Dr. Dalia Girgis is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Girgis focuses on the management and treatment of dry eyes and blepharitis, cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. She has a passion to help patients obtain their best vision possible with cataract surgery using premium technology, including advanced intraocular lenses. Her goal is to provide each patient with personalized care and a customized treatment plan specific to their needs.
Dr. Girgis attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree. She received her doctoral degree in microbiology from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2004. She continued her education and received her Doctorate of Medicine in 2008 from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was elected to the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, Dr. Girgis completed her ophthalmology residency at University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was elected chief resident. She served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Wisconsin-Madison for two years, during which time she trained medical students and ophthalmology residents. Prior to founding Insight Eye Institute, Dr. Girgis has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Fort Lauderdale since relocating to South Florida in 2014. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In addition, Dr. Girgis maintains active local memberships in the Broward County Medical Association, Caducean Society, and Broward County Ophthalmological Society.
